Many people want to succeed and start a business that sees success from social media, yet there are many factors that now go into ensuring you can even get your products in front of your ideal customer.
Content saturation is another consideration for new users due to the amount of content and businesses online now a days.
In this post I am going to break down some tips that I believe to be essential for people trying to elevate their online business this year.

Customized and Unique Branding
The essential variable for an e-commerce business is branding.
Depending on how you are running your business, what products you are using and what niche you are in there should be a large amount of consideration for the aesthetic your business exudes online. Consumers have become accustomed to fine tuned branding and cohesive business aesthetics across all channels.
Focus on figuring out your businesses clear and concise brand identity, brand tone and brand strategy.
If you notice that your brand does not have unique packaging, logos or features that allow it to stand out from competitors, then set that as a goal for your business this year. Including things within a customers purchase experience that offers personalization can improve returning customer rates and referral rates.
There are numerous third party resources for business packaging, labels and promotional content that there should be no reason to aspire getting to that level of professionalism for your brand.
For drop-shipping e-commerce structures, consider developing better relationships with your vendors and supplies in hopes to discuss elevating packaging or adding additional features to your current packaging and fulfillment structures.
Unique branding also includes social media content and product shots. If you are only using images given to you by supplier or venders, it is inevitable that other brands using those venders have the same images. Do what you can to stand out from similar brand owners by creating unique product shots for your items cultivated by you or outsourced by a photographer.
Omnichannel Commerce
One concept that goes with cohesive branding is omnichannel commerce which involves the seamless customer experience pipeline from start to finish with your brand.
This variable is crucial in 2022 due to customer expectations, requirements and demands from online businesses.
People are expecting a simple and easy experience when interacting with any content you put online. Any amount of confusion or discomfort within the experience can lead to a decrease in KPI conversions and your overall business progression.
Take time to look over your platforms and infrastructures to ensure you are utilizing systems that allow customers to move seamlessly through your site, get in contact with you and see some reviews from past customers. Ask friends and family to check out your platforms and offer an honest opinion on what could be done to improve their experience.
Understanding the importance of user experiences will only benefit your business and when people do come to your platforms will lead to higher conversion rates.

Content Demands
Another honest conversation online e-commerce business owners need to have is in terms of the demand for their content and products online.
When you first start a business no one online knows about the business from the start. Spam posting numerous times a day when there is no one within your platforms community to engage with that amount of content will only demand you online presence than elevate it.
Many online e-commerce platforms tend to get a set amount of products from vendors and begin spam posting vendor product shots on Instagram to begin selling and in their eyes, get in front of as many people with as many post you can put out.
Unfortunately, that is not how social media works and those habits will only train social media algorithms to treat you as a potential bot or spam account leading to little to no engagement. .
You need to learn the demands for your content by starting out with a simple content strategy and building off of it as you see results from audience members. Without a clear and concise strategy you will never be able to build the momentum and demand for your content or products you are trying to sell.
Comparing your account to large corporations that have high demands of consumers checking their accounts daily will only lead to a negative mindset towards social media progress.

Voice Shopping
There are so many new ways that consumers can purchase products in the modern world. One way is through voice shopping features and platforms.
Consumers have been seen utilizing voice shopping platforms for quick and seamless purchases for products they know and love. Having your products accessible on these platforms will only further increase the potential impressions or eyes you can get your products in front of.
As more technological advances apply themselves within the e-commerce space, stay informed on ways you can position your brand in front of your audience.
When it comes to content saturation, finding platforms that are up and coming will decrease the saturation level and lead to more potential for ranking higher within that new platforms algorithm.
One voice shopping platform you can become affiliated today is Amazon’s Alexa, many businesses have seen immense sales from the abilities of users to easily gain access to purchase products at the sound of a command.
Platform Saturation
Inevitably as social media and online e-commerce spaces evolve, there will continue to be a saturation of people, content and products to be found on said platforms.
This is why it is so important to scale your brand on social media through the use of specific strategies and tracking performances to continuously improve and elevate your online presence. Without a clear and concise plan. there is high potential of disappointment and social media burnout.
Many business owners tend to lean into the habits I advised against today due to the pressure that comes with seeing masses of content on social media and pressure that can ensue.
My personal advice would be to not focus son those pressures and take time to create your strategy and creative brand image, begin performing online with that content and track your performances to decipher what works and what does not work. Online e-commerce businesses can still be successful as a startup in 2022, it is just about brand positioning and being intentional with any action you make for your business online.
